Superior is surrounded by Ontario and
Minnesota to the north and Wisconsin and
Michigan to the south. It is the
world's second largest lake, and the
world's largest freshwater lake. Lake
Superior has a surface area of 31,700
square miles and a maximum depth of
1,332 feet.
Superior is the coldest, deepest, and
highest in elevation of any of the Great
Lakes.

More than 60
species of fish have been recorded in
Lake Superior, but it is best known for great Salmon and Trout
fishing. Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon
and Pink Salmon are all abundant in Lake
Superior. Water flows into Lake
Superior from many small rivers and
streams providing great fishing for
shore anglers. Trout fishing on
Lake Superior is also strong for Rainbow
Trout, Brown Trout, Steelhead Trout and
Lake Trout.
