Lake Notes: Deep lake with a maximum depth of 121 ft.
Cass Lake is full of structure, with good holes as deep
as 50 feet, weedlines and rocky points. Look for
walleyes along the dropoffs. Northern pike are abundant
at the Mississippi River inlet on the west side, its
outlet on the east side, and around both Star and Cedar
Islands.
Look
to the south part of the lake near Cedar Island for
Muskie. Part
of the Cass Lake chain of lakes connecting to: Andrusia,
Big Wolf, Pike Bay, Kitchi, Buck, Rice, Big, and Little
Rice lakes. Also connects to Lake Winnibigoshish via
the Mississippi River. Over 26 miles of shoreline.
